Recently, Kobe Steel Co., Ltd. of Japan signed a letter of intent for cooperation with China's Jiangsu Aluminum Corporation. It is reported that the two parties will establish a joint venture company in Baotou, Inner Mongolia, China, and it is expected to start production in 2015, mainly producing aluminum coils and aluminum sheets for automobiles and beverage cans, with an annual production capacity of approximately 200,000 metric tons.

The name of the company has not yet been confirmed. 80% of the company’s shares are held by Kobe Steel and Changlv Aluminum Industry Co., Ltd. holds 20 shares. %, the total investment of the two sides is about 40 billion yen (about 510 million US dollars).
