Nowadays, most of the special vehicles are diesel engines, such as sewage suction trucks , garbage trucks, etc. Diesel engines are a type of compression ignition internal combustion engine. The diesel engine uses diesel as its fuel. The diesel engine works by compressing the diesel to TDC before it is injected into the cylinder with high pressure. It forms a combustible gas mixture with the compressed air in the cylinder, and then uses the compression at the end of the compression. At high temperatures, the mixture burns on its own. It can be seen that the key to whether the diesel engine can be smoothly started is that the diesel injected into the cylinder can not rapidly form a mixed gas with the compressed air and burn.

The conditions for smoothly starting the diesel engine are as follows: the starting speed must be sufficient, because the starting speed is high, the gas leakage is small, the time for the compressed air to transfer heat to the cylinder wall is very short, and the heat loss is small, so the air temperature and pressure at the end of the pressure can be increased. The tightness of the cylinder must be good so that the leakage of gas at start-up is reduced and the air temperature and pressure at the end of the compression are increased. The oxygen content of the compressed gas mixture should exceed a certain concentration to ensure that the diesel ignition conditions. There must be sufficient starting system power to ensure that the starting speed and starting torque overcome the compression resistance and internal frictional torque.

In the northern winter or western highland areas, the temperature is relatively low compared with other places. When the special vehicles are used in daily use, there are difficulties in starting. The main reason is that the air temperature at the end of the cylinder compression of the diesel engine does not reach the start. The required temperature, and the pressure of the compressed air in the cylinder is also significantly lower than the pressure required during normal start-up. The battery's optimal operating temperature is in the range of 20 degrees Celsius to 40 degrees Celsius degrees Celsius. When the temperature is lower, the viscosity of the lubricating oil increases, and the resistance between the friction pairs increases, so that the diesel engine start speed decreases. Similarly, the viscosity of diesel oil also increases, resulting in deterioration of the atomization quality of the injection and prolonging the ignition delay. The air density and the oxygen content in the air decrease as the altitude increases.
